Idle speed zones are strictly enforced to protect the Manatees.

Canoeists should be careful of not venturing out into Tomoka Basin as it may become very choppy when the winds rise.

Fish species include; red drum, black drum, sheepshead, spotted sea trout, common snook, and tarpon.
