Large tracts of saltwater marshes surround Big Talbot Island State Park making this an ideal spot for fishing. The southern end of the George Crady fishing pier is also accessible from Big Talbot Island State Park. A small fee of $2.00 dollars is required to fish from this pedestrian only bridge. Try your skill at fly fishing for redfish on the flats during the spring and fall flood tides. Maps of Big Talbot State Park can be obtained at the parks office.
Big Talbot Island State Park is one of the seven parks that make up what is collectively called Talbot Island State Parks.
Catch a fish in the morning and fry it up that evening in the picnic pavilion, while over looking the beautiful Nassau Sound. A small fee applies for use of the picnic pavilion.
Big Talbot Island State Park has a deepwater boat ramp. It is called Saw Pit Creek Boat Ramp.

There's an "unimproved" boat ramp behind the Ribault Clubhouse. You can launch a kayak, canoe or a small flat bottomed boat from here.
Fishing from the shoreline of the Fort George River is popular.

Having approximately 5 miles of of wonderful sandy white beaches, Little Talbot offers an abundance of fishing opportunities due to the tidal streams, undisturbed salt marshes and surf.
Little Talbot Island State Park is one of the seven parks that make up what is collectively called Talbot Island State Parks.
The back half of the island boasts a great coastal salt marsh. You can catch black drum, flounder, redfish and trout. Or, just stay with the available 5 miles of surf fishing!

Pumpkin Hill State Park has three access points for fishing opportunities from the shore. The tidal creeks offer up an enormous potential for catching redfish, speckled sea trout and flounder. Kayak fishing at Pumpkin Hill is considered to be relatively easy, The area has sand bars, oyster bars and a decent amount of grass.
Please remain aware of wind conditions and incoming and out-going tides. Areas that allowed for easy access can become unavigable due to low water conditions as a result of tidal flows.
