Cooking with Paula Deen is a publication dedicated to southern cooking with an emphasis on easy to prepare meals that also have a southern charm. The magazine prides itself on not being cluttered with advertising and this philosophy makes it easier to follow articles.

Paula's personal story is one of success and hard work. She overcame the death of both her parents in her early twenties and a marriage that was less than successful. Paula and her two sons Bobby and Jamie moved to Savannah, Georgia. There they began a home based catering business with a couple of hundred dollars that quickly became a success in its own right through the hard work of all three. While Paula cooked in the kitchen, the sons Bobby and Jamie peddled the "homemade" goods on the streets of Savannah and the good word spread quickly. From street peddling they then opened their first "brick and mortar" location in a Best Western and Paula named this location "The Lady". Eventually an opportunity came for Paula to move to the historic district of Savannah and this location has the name of "The Lady and Sons". The Lady and Sons still operates today and proudly serves thousands of locals and tourists every year.

6 issues per year.
