The Hallowing Point public boat launching ramp along the Patuxent River is operated by the MD Department Natural Resources and offers; 2 single lanes, courtesy docks, parking for about 12-15 boat trailers & restrooms which are located on the hill next to the Dept. of Natural Resouces.. Watch the ramp closest to the bridge as it can silt in from natural causes.

The Jefferson Patterson Park hand launch. Launching a canoe or kayak is free, but anyone using the canoe & kayak launch must first check in at the Visitor Center for the directions. More information call 410-586-8501

Located along the Patuxent River and Cocktown Creek, the Kings Landing Park hand launch area offers; hand launching of kayaks, canoes or other small non trailered vessels, picnic areas, grills and restrooms. There is a fishing pier on site, a permit is required to fish from this.

Located along the Patuxent River since about 1750 the Lower Marlboro Wharf hand launch area offers; hand launching of kayaks, canoes or other small non trailered vessels, floating dock. limited parking and pier fishing. There are no restrooms at this location.

 

Nan's Cove Hand Launch

Go south on Broomes Island Road for 550' from above intersection Nan's Cove will be on the right.

The Nan's Cove Hand Launch is located in a sheltered cove with direct access to the Patuxent River, a floating dock allows easy access for a kayak of canoe regardless of the tide height.
There are six parking spots adjacent to the pier, where you can fish or crab. ( All Maryland fishing regulations do apply here )

No parking between 9 p.m. ~ 4 a.m.

No restrooms at this location.

 

Rod & Reel Boat Launching Ramps

Located along the upper stretches of the Chesapeake Bay's western shore the Rod & Reel boat launching ramps complex offers; a total of 6 ramps broken down as the east side has 4 ramps, the west side has 2 ramps, both sides do have courtesy docks. The official site says 75 boat trailer parking spaces.
Please watch and double check the Bayside Road ( route 261 ) bridge clearance is 9 - 10'. Proceed with caution!

The Solomons Island boat launching ramp located along the Patuxent River offers; 4 launching lanes, courtesy docks, parking for about 75 boat trailers & restrooms(available April 1st through November 1st). A fishing pier is also at the same complex.
